I need help with ideas for painting my kitchen

I really want my kitchen colors to be turquoise and black. My cabinets I have already painted black but I'm not sure where to go from here? I also need help on ideas for the floor because it is yet to be done too. Please help me with ideas or pictures to help me out. Thank you.

Hi @Amanda, it's all but impossible to help you without photos of your kitchen. Don't worry that it's a work in progress as we all have been there one time or another. Many of us are still there.

Thanks for the pictures Amanda. Will you be painting the sides of the wall cabinet black also? My idea would be go with neutrals for the walls and flooring and add color with curtains, linens and other less expensive items that will allow you to change things up later without allot of cost. Although for fun you might want to paint the arched ceiling turquoise. :^D

Amanda for the floors I have black and white checked floors. Actually the white is a soft white check.

Connie's ideas sound spot on. Love turquoise, I used it for walls once, but it was somehow too overwhelming. I really like the Navajo red turquoise and black combination too

There are so many things you can do. Since you have the cabinets black, I would try and add a lot of white with splashes of turquoise around. maybe add a turquoise backsplash with some glass tiles maybe a white and grwy speckled counter top and white walls. Hmm the floor is a tough one. I have the same problem deciding on that in my own house.

I think the color combo is very 1950's. The black and white floor is perfect. Jass it up with some cool kitchen retro finds from flea markets. This could turn out really "cool". Good luck! Linda B.
