A Southern Fall Front Porch

I am calling this the "Red Door No Apologies Tour." You see, all Southern Front Porches are Ladies. It's true. They each have a personality and some even have a name. My Aunt used to say "Let's go sit out on Gertrude." (I need to name mine still - I am thinking Annabelle) Anyway, she got all dressed up in her Fall finery and she would love if you would come and sit a spell with her.
When you have a red door, there is no way to get around being subtle. So, you go for the gusto and add as much color as you can.
Containers which frame the front steps are filled with ornamental cabbages, violas and mini gourds.
A table and lamp make the porch feel more like a room. The soft glow of a lamp creates the perfect place to sit at dusk.
Go red or go home. :)
A large wreath with oranges and reds and Fall colors makes a statement. It says "I'm HERE!"
Indian Corn is hung above the door...
She may be small. but she packs a lot of punch. :) Come on over to The Everyday Home and visit this Southern Lady.
