My First Upholstery Project!

Chipped and Charming
by Chipped and Charming
My friend Beth asked me to help her reupholster and paint a beautiful bench she found at a local antique store. The painting part was easy for me to imagine and do, but the upholstery part had me a bit nervous. I only have experience recovering seat/chair cushions, but because I'm brave and love to attempt new things I jumped right in the deep end! It was a pretty piece as it was, but the fabric needed to be updated and a fresh coat of Farmhouse Paint in Creamy Linen gave it a soft feminine appeal. We worked for TEN straight hours doing this project - I did mention we were beginner's, right? In the end though we were pleased and pretty proud of our first upholstery project. I'm no longer too timid to attempt small projects like this and will definitely be on the look out for more DIY adventures soon! So pretty! I have 2 Bergere chairs that have torn, disintegrating upholstery. I just don't have the confidence that if I take the fabric off, that I'll be able to get it back on well! You're inspiring :)
