Let's Go Primitive!

We came across this piece for sale and I just fell in love with the primitive look of it! I thought we needed to make this a stand out piece!
This is the only before picture I have. The hubby is too quick to start on things lately that I don't even have a chance to snap a pic! lol The top has already been sanded down to be stained. I'm looking to go bold with this one so I'm thinking General Finishes Buttermilk Yellow! Let's do it!!!
Love Love Love!!!

So let me tell you what needed to be done to get to this point, actually it really didn't need a lot of TLC like the pieces we usually do. The top wasn't attached well so hubby fixed that, then it was sanded down, stained, and about 7 coats of General Finishes High Performance Topcoat were put on. The rest I painted with GF Buttermilk Yellow and love it! I did quite a bit of sanding to give it that old distressed look. I then added GF Flat Out Flat to protect it....love that stuff! :)
The inside was in great condition so I didn't paint it.
There's the new back. Of course I had to put something on it! lol I thought it would be awesome if could be put in the middle of a kitchen as an island so that's why I chose to paint "Come Gather" on it. It just seemed logical! :)
And there you have it! I'm so happy with the way it turned out and I think the color fits perfectly with the primitive style of this piece!

This piece is available for purchase! Visit us on FB is interested!
