We hosted an artist studio open house last weekend through our regional Art & Eats Back Roads Tours here in SW Michigan. There were some 60 studios, farmsteads and eateries participating in the tour and visitors drove from site to site. This meant we were open to the public, giving furniture painting and blacksmithing demonstrations throughout the day. Here are some of the snapshots I took of the open house. More details on my blog at http://smallhouseunderabigsky.wordpress.com/2013/10/21/white-oak-stud…use-snap-shots/
My studio under the White Oaks was all decked out for the big "open to the public" weekend.
A vignette in honor of Autumn was located on the open porch.
Mr. pumpkin head scarecrow pointed the way in the driveway.
The Village Smithy! My husband Gene at his forge gave traditional coal fired blacksmithing demos.
The doors to the forge are open for business! Our black Lab "Sassy" peeks out at visitors.
Garden tours of our 5-acres property were enjoyed by all.
Few locals can compete with the blazing color of the SW Michigan landscape.

There's nowhere around that can compare to Michigan! I loved looking at your photos.

Thank you Linda. I love taking photographs of my property, making collages and sharing them. Nothing like Michigan huh...we have had approx. 120" of snow this winter in our community and today the wind is blowing 50 miles an hour off of Lake Michigan. Yup, nothing Like Michigan! Lol.
