Antique Corn Dryer With Indian Corn Tradition

White Oak Studio Designs

It’s no surprise I like all things vintage. I bought this hand-forged antique corn dryer some 30+ years ago and it has graced the front of two homes and my art gallery so far. Each year I buy freshly grown Indian corn and hang it up - a real Autumn tradition now. I even bought one for myhusband, the Village Blacksmith to try to entice him to make more to sell in my White Oak Gallery. I could just see these hanging on the hand-hewed beams of a farmhouse or log cabin. But I have had no luck so far getting him to buy into the program!
This small taste of fall hang’s on the front of our 1940's Ranch homes Indiana limestone siding in SW Michigan. Kudos to Barb Rosen, whose homemade corn wreath gave met the idea to post this!

  • Cool - I have one of these and have used it to display lots of things but I have never thought of using it for it's actual purpose and dressing it up to match the season.
