They're like dandilions; you have dig up the whole root. I dug yucca out of my back yard & planted grass. It can back for a while but my we just kept mowing it and it eventually stopped coming up.

Don't dig them out to get rid of them. Dig them out - pot up and put at the end of your driveway with a free sign. Spread the wealth.

You can "try" to dig out the root, but it really goes much, much deeper than you might think. My next-door neighbor got rid of hers by repeatedly digging it out, along with placing a veery thick stepping stone over it. That took 3 or 4 years. I personally would use an empty 2-liter plastic jug cut off at both ends, and cover the base of the yucca, and spray the strongest Roundup you can find through the "tunnel" created with the plastic jug. There is one available that kills very heavy-duty plants/shrubs that are hard to kill.

You need to dig them out completely all the way down to the roots, a rather tough job, but the only way. Good Luck, Mary

I would make sure that you dig out all roots you would have to go way outside main roots to make sure you have all the roots as it's root ball is large good luck
