The products I have used in past leave streaks on painted surface. I just want the door to look shiny and clean.

Most of the grime on the doors and trim is oily. Wiping the surface with a cleanser that doesn't cut oil makes it appear clean, but it won't remove the oily residue that attracts and holds onto dirt. Use a cleaner that's designed to cut through oil or grease. For light cleaning, a 50/50 mix of plain vinegar and water cleans and requires no rinsing. For heavier dirt or buildup, a mixture comprising a teaspoon of dishwashing liquid or 1/4 cup of Murphy's oil soap in a gallon of water helps cut the oils. This application requires rinsing. ***** To clean the surfaces, dip a sponge or soft cloth into the cleaning solution and wring it out until the cloth is barely damp. Starting at the top of the door or trim, wipe the entire surface with smooth, even strokes. You may need to go over particularly grimy areas more than once or use more vigorous scrubbing. Try to avoid letting the solution drip down the door. Excess water can leave marks on some painted surfaces. If you're using a soap solution, follow by wiping the surfaces with a cloth wrung out in plain water. Allow the surfaces to dry thoroughly before use.

I like the suggestions about vinegar, as I've heard good things about how it cleans! Maybe you could try some microfiber towels? I think I've seen some for wood, metal, etc. You could even slightly dampen it. Hope this helps! :)

Tried all the natural cleaners. Nothing beats the cleaning power of TSP. Trisodiumphosphate. It cuts dirt and grime like you wouldn't believe. Some of the grime is just from the rubber coming off tires, too; the TSP cuts through all that. I even use it on the glass in the door. Then spray it off with the hose and wipe down. Can do my double French doors in about 15 minutes! Note: there is a fake TSP (biodegradable, etc) being sold. I tried it. It did not work anywhere as well as the original.
