I would make o paste of 1/2 cup baking soda and 1/2 of cornstarch mixes with some water. Dab onto the stains and leave on until the paste is fully dry then vacuum it off.

I use Febreze Heavy Traffic Carpet Foam - I have a light colour sofa and this works great- have a damp cloth and a dry cloth so once I sprayed the spots I would rub it with the damp cloth and then use dry cloth to take off as much dampness I could so there is no water marks and let dry...

I use Go-Jo or Goop Hand Cleaner to remove stains from any fabric. It's mild. Rub a good amount of the cleaner into the stain. Let dry. Remove with soft damp rag in a circular motion. Another possibility is Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. It can be abrasive though so again gently use it, without any cleaner
