Renovation of a steamer trunk

I want to know how to renovate an antique steamer trunk.

    Also is it a wooden trunk or metal, does it have wooden or leather straps around it. As above if you can post a photo you will be inundated with brilliant ideas :-)

    I'm getting ready to work on mine. It is brass bound, leather, and the surface has been painted black at some point. The paint needs a little work; I decided not to polish the brass. I saw a very cool idea (that I can no longer locate), and that is to put Queen Anne Legs on it to make it a side table or a table for an entry hall. I'm now deciding on 8" or 10" legs.

    You can order new paper for the inside, I know that much.

    I have three trunks - two flat and one rounded back. I covered the inside of one trunk with material from the 'sale' table a JoAnn Fabric and it turned out great. Do not fool with a trunk that has any type of smell such as mustiness or whatever. You'll never get rid of it so says a dealer on Antiques Roadshow on PBS. Post a picture.
