DIY Kitchen Makeover

$2000
Medium
This past Spring my hubby and I did a semi remodel to our builder grade kitchen. The challenge was to create a french country kitchen on a small budget. We originally wanted to rip out our granite but after crunching numbers that was just not possible so we came up with some other budget friendly ideas such as changing out our backsplash with tiles we purchased from a local outlet store. We created a new stove hood from plank boards. I t hen painted our upper cabinets and added new hardware.
We went from builder grade basic to french country chic!
Travertine Tile Back Splash
We fell in love with the glass tile but knew due to the budget we could not use a lot of it so we just created a design that incorporated in places like the design above our range.
Vintage like glass knobs
These glass knobs were purchased at HobbyLobby at half off.
Hand Painted Island
I hand painted this island a few years back. It was a modern piece that my in-laws gave to us because they no longer needed it.
