    I live abroad and haven't seen any chalkboard paint in our local markets. Any chance black paint would achieve the same result?

    My walls all have orange peel texture. How do you get the base wall flat/smooth to paint the chalkboard?

      @Jennie Brinker I actually have no experience with removing orange peel texture. I would suggest google. I'm sure there are some tutorials out there to help. You could always create a chalkboard to hang directly on the wall. That might be an easier solution.
