This table is perfect until the end of November, including Thanksgiving. I like for my table to reflect my surroundings and who I am, so the elements include items I've gathered outside, my favorite colors and one surprise.

I went outside and walked down the road to a wooded area and looked for wild grapevine growing up trees. The leaves look like this.
The vine wrapped around the tree looks like this. Just find a piece low enough that you can reach and pull.
Trim off the straight branches and then wind and twist into whatever shape you want. Leave the little tendrils like this.
I wound it around my center basket, which was filled with pumpkins,
and the candle holders. We live in the middle of an old pecan orchard and I gathered pecans to go in the holders (and some for pie!)
On the blog I tell how I made the plaid table runner.
Then set the table with your finest china and crystal if you like, but remember it's okay to use natural looking elements like these straw placemats.
The final surprise touch is a pheasant feather tucked into each napkin.
