Over the past year we have been updating our kitchen to give it more of a bright and white look. When you walked into our kitchen it was very dark and boring but now it has the wow factor that we were looking for. We decided that it needed one more thing to really make the room pop, we decided to do shiplap on our dining room wall. It was super easy to do and I love how it looks!
This project only cost us about $75 to do. If you have paint on hand, then you could do it for as low as $40! It was easier than expected and cheaper, when does that ever happen??
Here is what our kitchen looked like 1 1/2 years ago. Although it isn't bad, it was a little boring and dark. It's not anymore!
The first thing we did was cut out the planks and nailed them to the wall.
Then we continued to add it through out the whole wall, even above the cabinets.
Then we sanded, primed and painted it a bright white.
And that's it. Doesn't it look so great?
Along with all the other things that we have done, we now have a very fun and bright kitchen and dining area.
Make sure to check out my blog post to see what kind of wood we used, how we cut it and all the other tips and tricks we used to make our shiplap wall look amazing! Plus you can see all the other things that we have done to our kitchen on the blog post.

Where did you get the planks? It seems unreal that all those would cost only 70 to buy, install and paint! What sort of wood was that inexpensive?
