Old Metal Cabinet Turned Into Pantry

Theresa Todd
by Theresa Todd
My kitchen is seriously small, with super high ceiling and (for me at least) unreachable upper cabinets. I had one small space where I could put any storage, so I turned this tall, metal locker into a pantry.
Metal Pantry
I got this cabinet at a local thrift store for $20.
My first lesson in how gross refinishing can be!
After 5 HOURS of cleaning. The rust removal and sealing was another couple of days.
This space between my cabinets and stairs is 17 inches. The cabinet was perfect at 14 1/2.
I got the metal egg basket on the clearance shelf at Target for $3.
Shelves are lined with polka-dot contact paper.
The door also doubles as a message center for my kids!

You didn't turn this metal cabinet into a pantry. They were originally sold as a metal pantry. It does look great though.

Looks great! I also have a small kitchen and may have to find something like this for storage.
