How to shine pre-waxed hardwood floors

I purchased beautiful hardwood floors for my living and dining area. I went to a local hardwood store and was told you can't polish finished floors. Is there something I can use to bring back the shine and hide scratch marks?

When you clean wood floors you are cleaning the finish not the wood. If they aren't looking the way they should then I am going to ask you what you have used to clean them. This is key because it will tell you what you need to fix them. Wood soap-will cloud the finish. It leaves a haze and it is a product build up. It is like using vegetable oil and adding water and throwing it on the floor to dry. Vinegar-when you cleaning wood floors you clean the sealer. Using vinegar will etch and cloud the finish. Knowing how you have cleaned them is also knowing how to fix them. If these floors are waxed it is usually a paste wax. Unless someone waxed them with floor wax. I don't understand what pre-waxed means. Usually pre-finished floors are sealed with a polyurethane, or they are engineered hardwood flooring. You need to know exactly which flooring you have before you can fix them.

my floors were "raw" wood then hard wax oiled.... would like to get them shinier... should i use "shiny" hard wax oil and a buffer?

when they use to hard wax floors they stripped off the old wax then reapplied the new wax. I don't know what method is hard wax oil.
