Bizaro likes to sound like an authority on everything, but is not experienced in much of anything but putting in her 2 cents to see her name on every Q&A. First, spiders are there to feed on smaller flying insects. You need to rid yourself of them at the same time. I like using Malahion and Diazinon as they have broad insect control and long lasting residual effects. Most can sprays are short lived. First sweep and kill (step on/ spray them until they do not move) all you can. Then spray in and around these areas. Check weekly and see if any areas return and re-treat. You can get rid of them soon long term if you do it right. Make sure you do not have any breeding grounds; standing water, garbage, fruit, vegetables, damp garden material nearby to house their 'flying meals'.
