DIY Sliding Spice Rack

This is a smaller version of my Pantry Slider which fits nicely between a kitchen cabinet and the gas stove. The space became available when we did some modifications to the cabinets. {Note : I never use this stove's oven, therefore, no extreme heat close to the spices, which might or might not affect them} cabinets
The Spice Rack is attached to the counter top with the sliding mechanism.
The open space we were left with after adapting the cabinets to the right.
All the sizes we have used. {we have had our melamine cut to size - if you do the cutting yourself, the time would obviously be a bit more to complete this project}

I love using otherwise lost space in creative ways. One caveat: spices in such a rack would be exposed to the heat from the side of the oven, which would be bad for them, making them dry out. Baking sheets, or standing up rolls of foil paper, wax paper, etc. might be another good use.

A wonderful idea. But, if you keep spices near a heat source, they can deteriorate quickly. Best to keep them away from the heat, and in a cupboard. But I love the outcome of the project. Very clever.
