A Unique Christmas Wreath! Got a Picture Frame?

I wanted a unique and inexpensive "wreath" for our front door and decided to just see what
I could come up with.. and came across an antique wood frame.
So I went to my craft room and picked out some large burlap ribbon, as well as red mesh.. and cut them both at long lengths to hang below the frame and I tied them on.
Then I gathered up some Christmas ornaments and craft wire to make the focal point.
I cut a piece of craft wire fairly long because I knew I wanted to use the excess to attach it to my wreath, then I strung the ornaments onto the wire in no particular order. (FYI: the ornament tops/caps may need a touch of glue to hold them onto the ornaments securely if they are loose at all since the door will be opening/shutting.)
I held up both ends of my wire of the ornament bulbs and they gathered together at the bottom in the center and I simple twisted the wire to hold them in this position.
Then with the excess wire I twisted it onto my wreath as a bow.
It turned out really cute for simply using items that I had on hand. I used this same 'Wreath' for a spring wreath also. If you like unique wreaths, Here is another one that I made using a steering wheel cover.
Suggested materials:
  • Antique frame   (family member (any fun frame will work))

Love, love, love your ideas. Just added your page to my favorites so I can always find you. I no longer put up a tree due to health reasons, but I have my Grandma’s old old ornaments. This I can do. Look forward to the steering wheel cover wreath. I’ll have to look closer, what did you use to sturdy it up? Did you still have the cardboard with it?

I like this for two reasons. One it's easy and quick. Two, it can be turned into another seasonal decoration with not much work. Brilliant!!
