Cleaning solution for bathtubs

Ellen W on Nov 03, 2013Let's assume for a minute that the tub is cast iron with a porcelain finish. Is it stained, or is the grittiness the only problem? If it's just the grit, try gently sanding it, starting with fine, and then super fine grit paper. As you move to increasingly high-numbered paper, the pores are closed off with the loose particles created by the process. Use at least 3 different grits of paper.Helpful Reply

Lynda M on Nov 03, 2013I don't have have an iron tub, but I was surprised and thrilled to find how easy it is to clean my tub with the Mr. clean magic eraser. It gets to the tough remove dirt in the slip resistant (textured) surface on the bottom. Maybe test a small area first though, to be sure it is okay on your surface. Good luck!Helpful Reply
