Use TSP (TRISODIUM PHOSPHATE). TSP is a strong base and can cause severe eye damage and can burn unprotected skin. Wear suitable clothing and eye protection. Keep away from skin and out of gloves.

I'm with Shannon Olden. You could also use one of those flat scrub pads with it.

Step 1: dust and wipe down with damp cloth. Step 2: Dry brush with talcum powder if the grain is open and clogged up, and Step 3: Gentle wipe down with anti dust cleaning spray for wood. Hope this helps you. I only ever did this once and it worked to make me feel good around it but in the end, it was also painted to give it a real fresh feel. You have lots more variety of paints in US than we do in Sg so will leave that to the experts on what paint will work well for your budget and desired results.

Murphy's Oil Soap is the best but be sure to read the directions and only use that much with the water dilution. It is heavily concentrated, but works great and smells great too!
