"What's black and beige and brown and copper with a whole lotta animal print"?... My Fall Table of course. If you like a non traditional table setting and lots of animal print, you are going to love this table. As always, every year my goal is to create a table setting by using what I already have. So the first thing I did was shop the house for inspiration.
This year my inspiration came from the animal print throw shown in the picture. Since the throw wasn't big enough to cover the entire table I used two yards of black fabric right off the bolt. Using the black fabric created another layer, and I love layering. Everything I chose for this table setting works amazingly well with the inspirational piece. So, I continued to add different elements to the table until I was completely satisfied with the end result.
Since the table is neutral, I used gold place mats, copper plates and metallic pumpkins to add a bit of sparkle. For the centerpiece I filled a huge seashell with pine cones, pumpkins and acorns. Instead of using candles this year, I topped the candlesticks with a pair of hammered drapery finials.
Check out the chandelier! It's feather garland. I simply wrapped the garland around the chandelier and used some of the existing feathers to hold it in place. This is my budget friendly version of an Antler Chandelier. Pretty clever huh! You like?
Fabric swatches were used as napkins and the floral pics placed inside the napkins add, a touch of the unexpected. The animal print pumpkins are the icing on the cake.
The napkin pictured is actually a fabric swatch/sample. To see more...
