  • Just set it in a window or in room facing south but not in the window. It is best if it is a room that gets more than 1/2 day darkness and this includes turning on and off lights. I leave it alone watering once a week. Cool room too. If the cactus got chilled it will start to set its buds. I gave my BFF this info and her Thanksgiving Cactus is so beautiful and is blooming right now. I even have had (and still have 1 left) a Poinsettia that blooms every Christmas that I I put out every spring/summer and bring in when the nights get cool. I do not put them in a dark closet or room or whatever the process is. You could try a basement with a window that is above 45-50 degrees or even your garage. It has to "sleep" for more than 12 hours and up. Hope this helps.
