Here’s How to make a Red Reindeer Garland w $1 Store Ornaments that you will love! I found these darling Red glittery Reindeer Ornaments at the Dollar Tree Store the other day and thought they would be so cute made into a garland. They were 2/$1 and came in gold also. Are you ready for the holidays?? Or thinking about it?
Can you believe I have the start to a Christmas or Holiday Mantel and it’s not even Thanksgiving yet?? Me neither. (to see all pics scroll below the pics and click on camera button on bottom left). My daughter’s birthday is next week and I have joked with her that our tree will probably be up by her birthday. That’s not going to happen but since I am in the world of blogging I am getting started. So I didn’t want to shock the family and decided to ease them into it with some natural elements too. It was so easy to make! It took about 1/2 hour to an hour to make. They come in gold to if you prefer a more elegant look.
Here’s what you need:
Twine – I got this big bolt at Michaels for $2
Reindeer Ornaments 2/$1 and I used 5 = 3 packs $3
Total project cost = approx. $5
How to make it:
1. Cut a piece of twin the length of your garland plus a foot or two extra – approx. 10 feet
2. Thread twin through ornament loop and then tie a knot where you’d like it to hang
3. Tie strips of ticking stripes fabric next to the reindeer and then strips of tulle next to that
4. Thread another reindeer and repeat the process until you have it long enough to your liking. Please note there will be lots of glitter on your table. Also there are little bells on the reindeer so you may have some curious helpers join your party like I did. Below are Chloe and Oreo. I added a Red Reindeer to this natural wreath I found the other day at a thrift store for $1.95. I made a burlap bow and added a few strands of the ticking stripe to it.
If you are new here I made this Gallery Wall above our fireplace using a wedding gift we received of gallery frames and then added the two larger Mirrors that I found at Thrift Stores. If you’d like to see how I did that please come over to the blog. Normally I am much bolder in my holiday décor but since we’re at the beginning of the season I’m going to morph our home into full blown holiday…lol. Feel free to follow along…lol…hint hint. Below is our Christmas family photo from last year. We had a friend take it and had lots of fun trying to get 2 kids, 3 cats and 2 dogs to cooperate too. I hope you liked the Reindeer Garland and hopefully are feeling inspired. At the least, I hope you’re thinking about the holidays. I’ll be here to help with inspiration when ever you need it so pop on back soon.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day, Lisa
