Furnace Tips & Maintenance Before It Gets COLD!

Bardi Heating and Air
by Bardi Heating and Air
Having your furnace maintained means it won't break down when you need it most. Here are some of the steps we take during an inspection and useful tips!
Step 1: We turn on the thermostat to make sure the system works. HINT: Keep your thermostat at 68 during the winter to avoid high energy bills.
Step 2: We make sure the air filters are clean. Normally, a household system has one filter and a system over 4-tons has 2 filters. HINT: Replace filters once a month for improved air quality and fewer respiratory distress.
Step 3: We measure the voltage of the furnace motors to ensure they're not overworking,
Step 4: We ensure carbon monoxide in the flue pipes is vacuumed away from the home.
Step 5: We check to see that the flame sensor is clean (if not, we remove buildup with sandpaper).
Step 6: We inspect the blower wheel to ensure it's clean and doesn't hinder air flow.
There are more steps but these are just a few helpful ones!
