I was trying to find candles to match the Owl Inspired Fall Tablescape that I was working on. I searched for weeks. When I couldn't find what I was looking for, I did what I usually do. I made my own.
The tablescape was inspired by the little owl salt & pepper shakers, but I couldn't find candles to match.
I used white candles, Delta Ceramcoat Candle & Soap Medium & an acrylic paint that matched the owl's eyes.
Mix the medium and the paint 50%/50% well. I painted one section at a time. When the paint had dried, I turned the candle & painted another coat.
After 2 coats of the paint & medium mixture, the candles were coated & matched perfectly.
The candles now match the eyes of my little owl!
The candles burn like any other candle. I love how they turned out! I have lots of ideas for this technique. ;-)
