Cassie from Lovely Weeds used Rustic Charm, Rocky Mountain, and Antiquing Wax to create the perfect shabby chic finish on this coat rack! Isn’t it gorgeous?
Hi Country Chic fans!

Being a neutral lover, I went a bit out of my comfort zone with this piece. After filling up my family’s new home with house plants (big windows are a new thing for us!), it became clear that green was the perfect “pop” for our home.

I had been waiting for the right opportunity to try Country Chic Paint’s Rustic Charm color for months, but never had the right project. It’s a rich kelly green, and I knew it would look great with Antique Wax.

Distressing was the plan from the start, so I lightly brushed on the paint in an imperfect way.
To give it more dimension and add to the “old” look, I very lightly dry brushed Rocky Mountain into the corners, around the edges, and around the hooks.
Then I sanded. I almost always lightly sand after dry-brushing because I love how it blends the colors together and knocks down the “newness” of the paint.
I topped it off with Antiquing Wax, and it came together perfectly.
I’m so glad that I went with my gut and tried something a little different, because this finish is just beautiful. Rustic Charm + Antique Wax is perfection.
