Making a closet from a cupboard

Help, I need suggestions turning an under the stairs cupboard into a clothes closet.

It looks like the urine has penetrated wood and turned portions black. You will probably need to sand and refinish the area (and possibly replace a few boards) to fix the color (and smell). You may find this article helpful: How to eliminate pet stains in hardwood flooring.
