Diaslow, are you referring to this post? I think that's specifically a dresser and Sajeela's picture looks like a tall closet. Maybe we can find her a good cabinet reno on hometalk - like here!

    Hello,

So, you will want to paint it out likely, but get a narrow trim you like or old frame to glue or nail to the front doors (like a beveled cabinet) Once painted out, it will look like it started life like that. Inside those frames, you could put a great wall paper remnant, stencil, rice paper, carved relief piece or other decorative addition. Around the top, and if you have room on the bottom, nail an approximate 3" strip of wood (for the top, it will be sticking up above the top edge - that's ok). On that strip of wood, you can then add a crown molding to the top and a stepped base to the bottom giving the whole thing dimension (look at videos on you tube for adding crown molding to furniture). Finally, figure out what scale closure would look good. You may have to fill and sand where the old closure was, and then paint again and add your new hardware. Done!

I would choose two contrasting paint colors ...one for the sides and one for the doors ....then I'd use stencils in a theme I liked ( flowers ,abstract, animals etc ) on the doors ....inexpensive and personalized to taste

Maybe something like this. A project last winter for a Christmas gift. The crown molding changed it so fast! Paint decoupage finished it.
