Looking for a good kitchen wall color

We have a few rooms that are already green. There are a lot of cabinets. Island is green, counters are sand color, tiles are white. Looking for something to "pop" the room, but not be over the top.

I can't even begin to make a recommendation. Maybe it is the lighting, but everything looks "warm" so my tendency would be to pick a warm color. But then, one rule in the art field is to pick a color across the color wheel...??? You might want to try that. One thing when in doubt is to buy some of those sample jars of paint and try the color in different parts of the area. I fell in love with Ralph Lauren's Cottonwood and wanted it so badly in my kitchen with natural wood and white. But the problem was the kitchen led into the den and because of the lighting (small windows and lots of trees outside) it turned into an almost light brown. I have since increased the window sizes but have not repainted...it might work now.

maybe paint a stencil on the tile backsplash with a green from the island. I don't see any walls, so were you thinking of painting the cabinets?

Other than the door, and window, what is there to paint? I could suggest a paint over on the cabinets, something that would go with the white appliances. Perhaps a light or even a dark gray for accent trim on the woodwork including the windows. Change out the cabinet knobs and pulls to a bronze or dark brown of off set all the white. What pops out to me is the color of the cabinets, being a distraction. Find a color, using either an antique panting technique, or chalk painting them. Use a gray accent to off set all the white appliances. It sounds like I'm partial to grays, but not really, they could be a good acdent color to pull in the other colors and not be overwhelming. The knobs an pulls will be around $50 to $75 at most. The chrome does not match anything. We are now in the process of re-doing our kitchen. We have a light oak, just a bit lighter than yours but black appliances. We are going with a soft white antique on the cabinets, bronze on the pulls, light, close to your counter tops in quartz, and white dual pain windows with an accent strip across the top. We are covering a brick wall but are not sure what the accent colors will be or the kitchen nook. The colors need to match the rest of the house also. We were thinking a celery green for the accent wall only and , here it is, maybe a light or gray on the nook. Not until the cabinets are painted will we make that decision.

I think I might be tempted to try a warm, toned down shade of poppy. It would pop but not overwhelm the eyes.

It might b e my computer, but all the colors looks like they are in the same color family. There does not seems to be any contrast. Maybe do the bottom cabinets dark...like a dark chocolate, and a dark green island.

Thanks for the feedback. There is a large wall to the back left of the picture I took. I chose the picture I uploaded because it showed what I was trying to compliment. Here is the wall in question. There is one large window in the room and a sliding glass door, so enough light. The wallpaper has since been removed and the walls are now white.

@Megan you could bring in a accent color from the adjoining rooms, Like from a accent pillow with multiple colors as a place to start. You can get a fan deck for free I believe at sherwin Williams. Use that to find the colors in the pillow then you choose from those colors.
  • Gray/greige tends to go with all those colors. If that's not what you're looking for how about turquoise? It pairs nicely with greens, beiges, and white.

I used a color called Blossom Tint from Ace Hardware. It looked creamy colored in the store but on my walls it definitely has a hint of green. Anyway I love it!

Try looking at a light celery green color. It is light, soft and goes with the colors you have in the kitchen.

I like rust with green, but it depends on the green, too. Wish I could see your green. Anyway, rust or something in the orange family would really perk things up and give your room some pop!

I can't really see the shade of green on the island, but I think a honey yellow would be a nice color for the oak cabinets and the island if the green is a lighter shade.

@D. Edward Design That's why God made so many colors. Some people like sun rises, others sun sets. I'm looking at the entire picture and trying to fit the people to the setting. I'm seeing a 70's kitchen. We had one but are in the process of bringing it into this century by using different colors, counter tops, and removing the country wall paper. When it is finished, I'll post the before and after pictures. At the same time we are keeping with the entire color co-ordination with the entire house. (My wife is the doer of that. She has the eye.) With the white appliances, I'd find a color to contrast the cabinets, change the tile wall behind the counter tops, paint the cabinets, darken the wood floors, use something on the plain window, perhaps even changing it out, (we did). What would help is to see more pictures of the entire kitchen and connecting rooms. Even with the light counter tops and white appliances, the room is dark because of the cupboards.

I would paint the cabinets into dark espresso color. That would make your backsplash and countertop pop out. You can get a kit from home depot for $80 or less and diy. Good luck
