Dresser and Drawers broke up! A found Dresser without the drawers in sad condition. Easy DIY modifications using other recycled items, paint and baskets were added. New look for an old dresser that was bound for the dump.
This Dresser looks great as shelving now, but when I found it, it was in a sad state having broken up with its drawers, which were no where to be found.
Here is the dresser before. Still in solid shape, but needs some modifications.
I took the back off the dresser so I could get at the inside pieces. These are the original drawer supports. I chopped these down to make supports for the new shelf I was installing.
This was an odd door I pulled from a construction dumpster. I chopped this down to make a new shelf for the dresser.
Here are the drawer pulls screwed into the side of the dresser. This picture is turned on its side.
Be sure to use a leveler when you put the shelving supports in. You want to make sure the shelves are nice and sturdy.
I painted the finished dresser turned shelving with a combination of Sherwin Williams Alabaster and CeCe Caldwell's Memphis Blue and Pickerington Violet. The top is CeCe Caldwell's Virginia Chestnut with Modern Masters Coffee Bean Glaze colorant. Check my blog for lots of more ways to repurpose broken furniture!
