Bleached Pine Cones

I love all the bleached pine cones that I've been seeing lately, so I tried my hand at it. And I have to say, I love the way they turned out. So easy and beautiful.
These bleached pine cones are so easy and beautiful.
1. Grab your pine cones and place them in a large bowl. I did this in the sink.
2. Pour a bleach/water mixture with a ratio of 1:1 over your pine cones. The water will turn icky pretty quickly. That's the color (and the dirt) draining away from the pine cones. Let the pine cones sit for at least 24 hours.
3. Place another bowl on top of the bowl to fully submerge the pine cones. FYI: they float! I placed a heavy canister on top to weigh down the top bowl. The water makes the cones close up, but don't worry, they fully open when dry.
4. Place the pine cones in the oven on 200 degrees for a few hours. Mine took about 3 to fully dry and open back up.
5. Fill a vase, a bowl or make ornaments with these beauties.
