What should I put next to my lonely stove?

My kitchen needs help. The kitchen cabinets and sink are on left side of a decent size room. The refrigerator is in the middle. Next to the fridge is a washer and dryer. Now one the right side is the lonely stove without a vent or cabinets. It creates the triangle. What should I put near the stove? Pots and pans rack, spices. Should I buy a rack for the stove to hold the microwave? I need help organizing my kitchen.

Great description, but some photos would help.

I just looked at the picture. Facing the wall, there is the basement door, open door way looking at the entry then the stove in the corner.

I agree that photos would help. Keep in mind that without a range vent hood anything near the stove will accumulate cooking residue. So, collections of spices, cookbooks, etc. can become soiled with that gummy residue. I would suggest sticking with easily cleaned items whatever you choose :)

Are there cupboards or racks over the W/D? If not, consider putting at least one long shelf over them that is deep enough for a small microwave. You could use the rest of the space to put spices, etc. I would put them in small cake pans labeled "cooking" and "baking" that you can easily pull down. I have also used sturdy shoe boxes that I covered with contact paper. Our W/D are in the kitchen/eat in area behind bi-fold doors, and I love it - so handy! It sounds like yours are open in the kitchen so make them look like they belong! Get creative and have fun!

Great idea. I will try to use a shelf above the w/d. My challenge will be to make the washer and dryer belong in the kitchen. Has anyone use the microwave shelf that attaches to the stove?
