Dancing (damask) on the Ceiling - How to Stencil the Ceiling

So there were a couple of pain killers involved but it was worth it! My daughter's damask stenciled ceiling.
I love the reflection of the ceiling in Emmalin'es big vanity mirror.
The view from Emmaline's bed.
The completed ceiling. I just went ahead and stenciled right on the vent. What would you have done?
I had never heard of using crafters paint for stenciling but it made a HUGE difference in the process. Crafter's paint made the dry time so much shorter.
Love, love, love this tape. It peeled on and off without any problems over and over again.
Although it was a bit tricky at first after I did a couple it was easy to work my way along the edges of the ceiling.

I've used "craft" paint (Ceramcoat, Americana, etc) for years. It's the best paint for stenciling walls (LR & DR) and painting wall murals (kid's room)... inexpensive, oodles of available colors, quick drying and easy clean up. Great job!

I love treating a ceiling like a fifth wall and it really makes a room pop though it can be as soft or as loud as you wish depending upon your plan for the room. I love the damask design you chose. As for your neck, some painters and decorative painters used to use a neck collar like you see worn after a neck injury to support their neck. The few I talked to said it did help prevent strain and often lessened the soreness at the end of the day. Wish I had tried it back then cause just the thought of decorating a ceiling at my age is enough to send me toward a chiropractor!
