Pebble Art Family in a Shadow Box Frame

So I'm trying this new craft for the first time....pebble art! Have you heard of it? They use small stones to create a picture. First things first, you'll need a shadow box frame and some pebble stones, tacky glue, watercolor paper or white cardstook is fine too.
Prepping to paint my frame white.
I wanted a white frame so an old 5×7 I had on hand that got a new lease on life with a few layers of white latex paint. I stuck push pins in the back to keep it from sticking to my work area while it dried.
I had collected small stones and snail shells from a few of our beaches this past Summer and had them washed and dried for my upcoming projects.
We have a family of four and a bichon frise to include in the picture. Next I worked on the poses I wanted and it started to take shape after a few adjustments. I did a complete mock up with the pebbles before I started to glue them to the cardstock with Aleenes Tacky Glue. * To glue a rock to another rock I used a different glue which was E6000. The dog also received black marker dots for the black nose and eye.
I had in my scrapbooking supplies these rub on transfers which I isolated the word "Family" for my project. The kits come complete with a popsicle stick to adhere the transfer on with. Super easy to use, instructions are on the reverse of the package.
Once the glue had dried it was okay to reassemble the frame with my finished Rock and Roll family.....😃 I added a few pieces of green sea glass to represent grass. The stripes in the pic is my ceiling pattern reflecting into the glass, sorry but you get the picture. I'll definitely being doing more of these since they were fun and relaxing! They make one of a kind gifts for family and friends too!

*Update: After gaining more experience in making pebble families I decided to update ours in 2019. Our family stayed true but I added more to our background, a tree, the sun and some pretend boulders made from snail shells! I also distressed the frame with a sanding block.

I repositioned our fur baby as well, hes now looking upward giving doggy kisses to our daughter! I swopped out the piece of driftwood for a shorter one, acting as our bench. All in all it looks much more complete now, so relaxing and rewarding making these framed families.

I love making art out of my finds from the beach. I have used a lot of sea glass and shells and small canvas's, I have also crushed sea glass into very fine pieces and put them in a picture frame with beachy scrapbook paper as the background. You did a great job on your family frame.

Thank you. I use sea glass, mussels, snails and driftwood and an assortment of craft products to create keepsakes.
