Unless your garage is heated (for winter) or air conditioned (for summer) there is little point to having an insulated garage door. In this case it would be better to make sure the insulation around the garage (walls and attic spaces) are well insulated to keep the heat/cold from the garage out of the rest of your home.
I work for residential garage door manufacturer Clopay. If you live in a climate that doesn't have extreme weather conditions, investing in a super insulated door may not make sense. But insulated doors do offer some benefits as described in the attached press release. http://www.clopaydoor.com/presskit/pr-03.htm... Good luck with your decision.
