Shabby Chic Bedroom on a Budget

I must confess that I haven't decorated my bedroom since I was a teenager, and well I am definitely far from a teenager now. I won't say how far lol, but point made. I have always focused on the areas of the house that was seen. But I didn't realize how important it was to have a special place for myself. Especially when I spend a good part of my life in it. So when I bought my first home I decided it was time to do so. Unfortunately I am on a tight budget as I have tons of other rooms/space to decorate as well...3700sq ft...so I really needed to think outside the box on this one.
I had gone to my local resale shop owner and worked out a deal, he was in need of organization help and me in need of low cost decor. I was able to work a few hours a week in exchange for store credit. PERFECT!
I have not gone into great detail about my projects but if you have any questions please feel free to ask and I will definitely answer:)
This is my comfy bed. I did splurge and get a new comforter. However I got a great deal on Wayfair for only $32! For a queen size! I thought it went well with my lampshade I made. That wasn't difficult but time consuming, but well worth it! I absolutely love the rosette look!

The headboard is very different than most, it's just a picture frame from my local Good Will store. I painted with my favorite chalk paint and added inexpensive lace fabric. I really loved the silk rosette fabric but didn't love the price, so only bought a quarter of a yard and added to just the middle. I can't have a traditional headboard as my bed base moves. It's a temper pedic and can't use a regular headboard so had to come up with something else.
I have boiler heat so have these metal covers over the radiator. I actually like them. I made paper flowers, added jewels for pop. I put magnets on the back. The beautiful accessories are from the resale shop expect the clock. So didn't have to spend very much at all!
I lined the door panels with vintage floral paper I found at JoAnn's. I got lucky and got when it was 50% off so only paid $3 a roll. I got the floor bird cage brand new in the box at a garage sale.... score!
I think that the grandfather clock shelf is my favorite piece in the room. I didn't plan on having it. I had pinned the idea on Pinterest and low and behold a cheap grandfather clock shows up at the resale shop. The owner was only interested in the mechanical parts, and I was only interested in the shell! PERFECT situation!! I still need to get more shelves made for it, but I absolutely love it. I added extra rosettes from the lampshade. I sprayed lightly with a silver metallic fabric spray. The clock itself was a terrible plastic brown, so I did it a favor by painting it in my white chalk paint.
I got the dresser at a garage sale for $10. I got the bust figure on Amazon for less than$30. Rest of the accessories from the resale shop.
I love this Effie Tower lamp. It came in at the resale shop and I knew I had to have it for my room. I also got all of my sheer curtains there as well.
I got this jaw dropping beauty at the same resale shop. I am so happy that I was able to make the deal. It has saved me tons of money. I couldn't be happier!
I got the old suitcases from the resale shop. I just painted with my favorite chalk paint and staked up on a small side table. I didn't want my bedside tables to match but did want them to look good together.

It was so great talking with you earlier!! It definitely inspired me to get this posted . I LOVE purple too! I actually did it in my main living room as well with a grey accent color. Decided with this first (and only) house I was getting rid of the decor, colors, and themes I have had pretty much my entire adult life. So it's been really fun to step out of my norm/comfort zone and do things differently. Having Hometalk has been a lifesaver, as I never would have gotten thru this size of house without the help of so many talented people. It's like having your own interior designer, expect I have to do the work lol. Thanks for the positive feedback on the headboard, I wanted one so badly but with my bed it was challenging. But I am happy with the end result. Thanks again!! , :)
