Is there a coating or way of protecting wooden planters from termites?

I lined my wooden boxes that I use as planters but you can also use a varnish /sealer to coat it. Them rustoleum came up w/new product that can coat to repel water/moisture. It's pricey but it's new.

My husband is a Cook's Pest Control Inspector.He says the only way is to have termite protection on your home and property and Cook's guarantees termite protection.
