SANTA AND I ARE ON A DIET! (This is a Fun Post!)

When I had my physical, my doctor told me to lose a few pounds! What a lousy thing to hear at the best "eating time" of the year! So I decided that if I had to diet, so should the fat man in the red suit!
Here is the centerpiece for my Christmas Table...I thought this was the best place for the slim Santa! Both of us will be looking GOOD...make that GREAT...by Christmas. I have already lost 4 pounds!
A slim Santa standing up in his sled so you can see his slim body! He will go on the tree next week. I put him on the table because my grandson is coming down to visit over the weekend and I don't have my tree up yet...he willingly agreed to be the centerpiece for the weekend.
I gathered up my materials. The toilet paper (TP) roll center is the body and I made the arms out of a red drinking cup. The roll was painted with red paint.
The hand is a piece of felt wrapped in a cuff made from a cotton ball and an arm made of a piece of a drinking cup. I used Elmer's white glue to put on the cuff and hot glue to attach to the glove to the body.

CAUTION: I always have a wooden skewer handy to hold hot glued pieces in place until they stick so I don't burn fingers! The top of the arm was bent over and glued to the inside of the TP roll!
A closeup of the slim Santa! Now just add the hands and belt!
I had a Santa face, but he did not have a good beard. The batting I was going to use did not work well so I resorted to using Elmer's white glue to put on cotton balls. I used stick pins to hold the beard in place until it dried.

I had to use a pre-painted face since my hands are not steady enough to paint small objects any longer.
Santa's belt is a piece of black felt with a small brass oval I found. The belt is glued on at the back!

Congrats on your determination. Skinny Santa is a great motivation. He makes me smile. You gotta watch him.....He'll gain weight on Christmas Eve from all the cookies and milk =:)

Just so he does not ask me to join him in eating all those cookies! I would just have to say "YES!"
