Christmas Joy Sign - You'll Never Guess What the Faux Fur Actually Is!

This Christmas Joy sign makes a perfect Christmas decoration for an entryway, mantel or table centerpiece.
I love varying textures in my DIY projects and 2 of my favorite textures are cable knit and faux fur... especially during the holidays!

To create my Christmas Joy Sign I covered cardboard letters with a cut white cable knit sweater that I found at a thrift store and "faux" faux fur to create cozy winter textures. But the faux fur is actually...
Dollar store dusters! They made the perfect faux fur substitute and you can't beat a buck!
After cutting out the cable knit to the size of the letters, I glued the sweater pieces onto the "J" and the "Y" for my sign.
Then I glued the "faux" faux fur onto a styrofoam ring.
To add some color to my white sign, I wrapped some red ribbon around the faux fur "O".
Since I planned to use the letters in a planter box at my entryway, I glued cake pop sticks to the back of the letters so that they would stand in the floral foam inside of the planter.
After inserting the letters into the foam in my planter box, I added pine greens, some faux dusty miller, pine cones and some metallic red beading.

While I have my Christmas Joy Sign displayed at my entryway table, it would be beautiful on a mantel or as a table centerpiece as well.
