Is this a Peregrine Falcon?

This beautiful bird sat on the balcony railing of my condo this morning for more than an hour. I took a ton of pictures through the window screen and then opened the balcony door and he still stayed there.
Went out on balcony to take this one. He didn't move just tilted his head to look at me!

Awesome photos! You had a close encounter with a juvenile red-tailed hawk. Red-tails have become increasingly urbanized. Unfortunately young birds raised in these environments are often too used to humans for their own good. If he/she happens to return, you would be helping its chances of survival if you scare it off.

Thanks for the information. I see a lot of larger birds here because I'm on the Niagara Escarpment. But I will won't encourage it to stay around! I must locate a good website so I can identify more of them.

Thank you @Lorah Marquardt. Coincidentally I got an email from a friend up north who recommended it as well. Fabulous site - also info on other areas I'm interested in!

What an awesome photo encounter. I have had red tailed hawks nesting in my wooded back yard for years so I see them daily. They are actually an endangered species for our area. Watching them fly and hunt is a phenomenal experience.

Thanks! I turned off all sound on my cameras and just slowly extended my arm out the door, pointed the camera which is when he tilted his head. I stayed still so I didn't frighten him off before I got some pictures. He ended up staying out there for more than an hour. Maybe since I'm on the top floor he felt secure. Now if I could only get the elusive red cardinal to perch as nicely

This is not a Peregrine or any falcon for that matter. Falcons have notched beaks and solid eyes. It is either a Rough legged Hawk or a young Red tailed Hawk. Nice pictures... Thanks for sharing them.
