We've had a couple hard freezes already.

Depending on your location and the ground is not frozen you will be ok.The air temperature and ground temperatures are two different situations.

I see your in NC, if the ground hasn't frozen yet then you still have time.

  I found that planting bulbs in Dec. gave me green leaves in the Spring, but no flowers. Just a thought.
