you need to get a borer bomb from your pest distruction guy or some supermarkets have them and make sure all animals a people are out of the house for the prescribed time after you have let it off they work quite well

We had wood bores and I sprayed them with bug spray until the wood was soaked , no more bores
If they are really bad you need to get it tented and fumigated. I have worked in pest control for 10 years.
first find a big plastic bag or two it depends of ow big is the furniture and then spay in a strong spray for cockroaches and then tied it very well.leave it like this two days at least and that's it.
