That sounds really cool, what type of electric fireplace is it?
Some are made to slip into any place and are shielded on the outside some are not.
It depends on the material the coffee table is made of and where it will be located once the insertion is done. If your coffee table is wood and if it is old wood I would not advise it. Even the shielded inserts get quite warm and that could lead to combustion. If you are planning on using it in the garden or outside, you must make sure it is not going to get wet or damp. I don't know much else. Good luck!

Hey Sharon, Just like Shawna, Sauve and Cheryl it really is hard to advise you without more info or a photo. However, I can show what I did with a clearance TV/Entertainment center that has a space that was an awkward size for my old music system. I'm planning on sending a full post re: the space and fireplace. Hope this helps.
