we are looking for something to keep the moles at least out of the back yard...poisons are too dangerous for the dogs (one likes to hunt them) and the others like to bring any they find into the house.
i have a friend who tried one and they do scare the moles but not permanently i also know someone who flooded them out by sticking a hose in their hole and turn on water
