DIY Lighted Wall Panel

$75
Easy
I wanted to add some color and character to my boring white-box rental apartment, and needed more lighting. My solution? Floating wall panels: they are easy to customize with paint or wallpaper and you can add lighting to them. For my dining room panels, I added some rope light on the back to create the perfect mood lighting.
The panels are simple and inexpensive to build and the best part is, you can take them with you when you move out! Here's a link to the detailed list of materials, tools, supplies needed: http://www.engineeryourspace.com/how-to-make-lighted-wall-panels/
I built the panels using inexpensive materials like hardboard panel and furring strips. I opted to decorate my panels by painting a border and adding some remnants of wallpaper I had on hand. More details here: http://bit.ly/XH8LKF
To add some mood lighting to my dining area, I installed some rope light on the back of the panel.
