How do you make organization tabs thicker?

At my job, we have signing that we try to keep alphabetized, but it always gets messed up and it takes forever to find anything. So for our main set of signing, I made a set of 8x6 inserts with tabs across each one labled 'a' 'b' 'c' ect. on illustrator, so I haven't printed them out yet. I plan to laminate them, but I'm not sure the lamination itself would withstand the consistent 'flipping through', without them bending or being flimsy to begin with. I know the tabs won't last forever, but I'd like to know if anyone has any ideas on how to make them sturdier.
If this idea works, I plan to expand it to a few other areas of our signage.

Sounds like laminating them will make the difference, it will keep really well and still be "flippable" as long as you don't use too-thick plastic. Good luck!
Try printing on carton paper and the laminate. Will last longer than paper ones
Use card stock instead of paper.
I would use wood instead of any paper product -find yourself some thin board
