I would like to paint over the red bricks of the fireplace what would be the ideal product to use for this project ?

Would this be an easy task for the home owner to do on their own?

i would think it shouldn't be too difficult but before painting make sure bricks are clean , if there are any soot stains a primer might be a good idea make sure paint is for brick/cement and that it will withstand heat if you plan on using the fireplace
