We Painted Our Kitchen Backsplash

The 2 Seasons
by The 2 Seasons

Our project was easy, inexpensive, and gave our kitchen a whole new look. After painting our kitchen cabinets, our beige backsplash looked drab. We didn't want to deal with the mess and expense of replacing the perfectly good tile, so we decided to paint it.

The entire project only took a few hours and have amazing results.

I did the prep work one evening after dinner. It involved cleaning the tile really well and then I painted on a primer.

The next step was applying two coats of Sherwin Williams latex paint in Pure White. I wanted to match the cabinets exactly. We still need to replace the outlets. Since this project we added a great DIY fan hood, changed the lights over the bar, and added an island.
