I would search for "buffet lamps" as they are generally taller. That is what I have in my bedroom as my bed is really high and I found some bases that took a 75 or equivalent watt bulb. Perfect to read by, especially when there are no ceiling fixtures in the room. Love thenightstands! Great find!

Look at adjustable desk lamps. The arm and head adjust so the beam focuses on your reading without flooding your bed mate. Mine are dimmable for even better light control. Available in contemporary styles and a variety of metal finishes.

Instead of table lamps, why not try 2 hanging chandelier style lights? No need to go overboard w size, lots of places have them. If you're worried about cords, run them down the corners on the walls and paint the cord the same color as the wall. You can use any corded light. There are inexpensive remote control kits avail. Beautiful nightstands btw!!

I was going to suggest retractable "sconce" lamps with shades in silver and black tones, and attach them to the wall. They don't have to be wired because they come with tracks that hide the cord. But I LOVE foundaroundvintage's idea of 2 hanging chandelier lights that complement (but don't compete with) your beautiful painting. Keep them simple, and I don't know how to do it, but remember that you want to be able to turn them on and off while you're sitting in the bed. Remote controls would work or maybe a pull chain. (Make friends with an electrician.) Either way it frees up space on the bedside table. Beautiful room! Good luck!

Back to Craigslist! I agree the buffet style lamps will ad the height you desire. Stay to chrome, pewter, silver or glass, keep shades simple.

I came across the perfect white-and-crystal chandelier for over my tub on sale at a baby store. You never know where you'll come across these things ;-) If you find two chandeliers you like that are the wrong color, there's always silver spray paint!

Definitely hanging lamps....bed probably won't be moved. I would bring in another color to brighten it up. It is gorgeous though.

I fear hanging lamps may be too much. I'd like to see a clean retro shaped lamp. A classic triple chrome ball or a glazed pottery gourd table lamp where you could have an expected pop of color. These styles are available from economical sources and a little zoooshing can make them unique pieces. Paint bases, dump dime store shades or add unique trim.

I cheat height by changing the base of the lamp or adding to it, propping the lamps on cool books or a lucite box frame.

Check resale or antique stores that carry retro lamps. Tall ones were very popular 50's-70's

You want them to look the same as the end tables?I have seen that exact design at Walmart.

So many beautiful things here, but it is awfully busy. I think I would use something relatively simple with a simple shade...I don't know if they have a name, but those that are like drums...same size at the top and bottom. I would think hanging would be best to free up bedside space, but anything would work if it isn't too complicated.

do you have a look in mind? Are you thinking of going more "blingy" like the picture, modern or deco-retro looking like the night stands?

Look up some estate sales. The last day of the sale they usually mark items at 1/2 price.

Personally I would go with more simple look of bedside table lamps, cause you already have a lot going on.

Wow I really like the alvangen lamps, great idea to do that with the picture to see what it looks like. That is the one I would pic, fits in there nice not to gaudy and what a price!!!!

I would use pendant lamps, not to distract from the beautiful tables. Its a great alternative and leaves more space for pictures, candles etc!

i, too, think you need tall and simple. And fairly narrow. These don't fight your decor. They are gorgeous, but pricey. They tone your black and your white. Check yard sales and thrifts for pairs of brass or metal lamps and paint them. Get a new shade., and it will complete you "picture perfect" room.

You've got ornate, dominant tables and high contrast art with an intricate overall pattern. And while everything is color coordinated, the fabulous "bed of many pillows" introduces another large pattern .

The eye needs a place to rest, ground. And why I lean towards a weightier piece. you Any open design in the lamps such as twisted branches or mixed media material, glimmer, small and thin lines and or adornments could be a tipping point.

Table lamps are usually easy to get at any price point. TJ Max or Marshall's, big box stores like Lowes, . Amazon has everything and open box items can be deeply discounted on sites that would otherwise be out of ones budget.

Sourcing from antique, consignment, charity shops, or Craigslist is my Achilles heel. I never seem to bring home items that are quite right for the place in mind and rarely will there be a pair of anything. I basically haveMichael Jackson's cast-offs in storage.
